DeLand, FL – Great news for traffic circle enthusiasts: DeLand’s beloved roundabout renaissance continues!
Greene Realty is proud to announce a new traffic circle for Downtown DeLand! We know just how much our community LOVES traffic circles… so we decided to invest in one outside our Downtown office.
The “Greene Realty CIRCLE OF EXCELLENCE” is undergoing city approval at the moment. If you have any questions, visit our office at 102 S Woodland Blvd and ask one of our agents!
DeLand has seen a number of new traffic circles pop up around town, this time at the intersection of New York Ave and Woodland Blvd! Right in the heart of the historic downtown. The project is expected to be completed by April 1, 2026.

Officials assure residents that this latest addition will make navigating downtown “more intuitive than ever,” as long as drivers remember to yield, merge, and exit correctly—simple, right? The single-lane design will maximize efficiency, with the center island featuring lush landscaping and possibly even a tasteful monument commemorating DeLand’s ongoing commitment to circular traffic patterns.
Local businesses are preparing for the change, with some welcoming the new flow of traffic and others jokingly bracing for the inevitable confusion. One shop owner commented, “As long as people don’t just keep driving in circles instead of stopping to shop, we’ll be fine.”
Social media has already lit up with reactions, with some celebrating DeLand’s bold step toward the future and others wondering whether jaywalking will now require a GPS. Meanwhile, rumors of a proposed “turbo roundabout” at Stetson University remain unconfirmed.
Construction begins later this year. Stay tuned for updates—and if you haven’t mastered the art of navigating a roundabout yet, now might be a good time to start practicing!

One last thing… What’s the date again???
